Bearcats Sweep Bobcats to Set up Showdown With Wolves

W.F. West girls tennis won every set 6-0 in the first set and cruised past Aberdeen for a 6-0 victory in 2A Evergreen Conference play on Monday at home.

W.F. West’s Laura Yip defeated Aberdeen’s Charlize Guitierez, 6-0, 6-3, in first singles. W.F. West’s Hannah Feaster defeated Aberdeen’s Macy Cogburn. 6-0, 6-1, in second singles. W.F. West’s Anna Alexander defeated Aberdeen’s Ellie Cady, 6-0, 6-0, in third singles.

On the double’s side, W.F. West duo Claire Kuykendall and Kaylynne Dowling defeated Aberdeen’s Maddy Mathensen and Kaylie Knutson, 6-0, 6-0, in first doubles.



In second doubles, W.F. West’s Katelyn Wood and Emma Weerasinghe defeated Aberdeen’s Maritza G-L and Monse Lopez, 6-0, 6-0. In third doubles, W.F. West’s Emma Hamilton and Lillian Huffed defeated Aberdeen’s Chlowe Stolen and Maddie Casey Casey, 6-0, 6-0.

W.F. West has two remaining league matches: first at Black Hills on Tuesday, then against Centralia. If the Bearcats win both, they’ll tie for the EvCo title.
