Graciously moved to accommodate W.F. West coach Jake State’s surgery, the Bearcats swept Shelton at home after the match was originally supposed to be held in Shelton. The Highclimbers made the drive down to help out State, who couldn’t drive vans after injuring his hand and getting surgery last week.
“They were very gracious,” State said. “It really helped out, I’m very thankful for that.”
The Bearcats are now 4-0, and 3-0 in league play this year with Black Hills on the horizon Wednesday.

“We swapped Hannah Feaster and Lillian Schmitz, and that worked out today,” State said. “Hannah doesn’t like to lose, and that helped Caydence, installing that mentality. They did a better job today.”
