Bearcats Tame Tigers in Swamp Cup Match

With bragging rights on the line, W.F. West got the last laugh Thursday afternoon against its rival Centralia at Riverside Golf Course, beating the Tigers 235-246.

The Bearcats were led by freshman Ben Halverstadt, who shot a 38. Tukker Rosbach wasn’t far behind with a 43, Brock Bunker shot a 49, and Dirk Plakinger (51) and Evan Tornow (54) rounded out W.F. West’s top five.

Though they didn’t win, the Tigers had the match medalist once again, with sophomore Von Wasson scoring a 36, right on par. Senior brother Cole Wasson shot a 41, good for second for Centralia.

Behind the Wasson brothers were Brady Sprague (55), Colby Christensen (56) and Mateo Guerrero (58).

Centralia will take on Rochester next on Monday at Riverside, while W.F. West travels to Aberdeen for its next competition.
