Bearcats Track Down Wolves for Blowout Win

W.F. West senior Drea Brumfield scored a game-high 23 points and the Bearcats had no trouble disposing of Black Hills for a 64-20 victory on the road in 2A Evergreen Conference action Thursday.

The Bearcats’ defense was sturdy once again, limiting the Wolves to just 10 points at the half, including just two in the second quarter.

The Bearcats’ offense, meanwhile, was humming out the gate as they drilled six 3-pointers in the first quarter, part of a 21-5 run to start the game. Brumfield finished with five 3-pointers herself on the night.

“We talked about being aggressive and that’s what we did,” W.F. West coach Kyle Karnofski said.

Karnofski praised the overall performance of junior Morgan Rogerson, as well as the staunch defense of freshman Amanda Bennett, who also hit two 3s in the first half. He was also pleased with his team’s passing.

W.F. West (9-2, 5-1 EvCo) heads to Shelton Friday for another league match.
