Five Tenino players scored touchdowns and the Beavers delivered a 52-8 stomping to Columbia (White Salmon) in non-league action Saturday for their final game of the regular season.

The fifth-ranked Beavers were led by Gavin Watson’s three rushing touchdowns and Takari Hickle’s 212 rushing yards.

Watson scored on three of his five carries, rushing for 95 yards. Hickle had a team-high 13 carries for 212 yards and a touchdown. Alsoc scoring was Dylan Spicer, who ran 12 times for 78 yards and a TD, Brody Noonan, who had three carries for 44 yards and a score and Triston Whitaker, who ran five times for 65 yards and a touchdown.

The Beavers racked up 525 yards  on 52 carries for 10.5 yards a pop against the Bruins.

Tenino coach Cary Nagel said the victory was good for momentum heading into the district playoffs next week.

“There were some things we needed to work on to get ready for next week,” Nagel said. “The kids responded well, and it’s nice to be fully loaded again. Getting Whitaker back added another element.”

Tenino improves to 8-1 overall and will host Castle Rock in the opening round of district on either Friday or Saturday. The winner earns a state berth.
