After barely scraping by Pe Ell-Willapa Valley last week, the Tenino football team ran rampant on Sequim in its home opener Friday, 52-14.
The Beavers didn’t allow a point through three quarters, and Dylan Spicer had 155 rushing yards with two touchdowns in a dominant performance.
“Our boys played like themselves in this game,” Beavers coach Cary Nagel said. “They took last week personally, and it was a different week of practice. They worked hard at things we needed to. We responded as a team.”
Keegan O’Connor took the opening kickoff to the house for Tenino, and the Beavers never looked back in the win to move to 2-0.
“The boys played really hard,” Nagel said.
The Beavers (2-0) take on Klahowya next Saturday at Lumen Field in Seattle for another non-league tuneup.
