Beavers Find Tough Sledding Against Class 4A Puyallup

Tenino softball fell behind early and couldn’t put up enough hits to climb back in it as the Beavers took an 8-0 road loss to Class 4A Puyallup on Saturday.

The Beavers were held to just one hit on the day while the Vikings tallied eight hits and plated four runs in the first inning, two in the second and two more in the fourth to seal the win.

The Beavers’ lone hit came from Grace Vestal, who went 1 for 2 at the plate. Alivia Hunter had the Beavers’ only walk.

Tenino ace Emily Baxter fanned seven batters and allowed four earned runs on eight hits and two walks, and the Beavers committed five errors on defense.

Tenino (1-5) continues non-league play when it hosts Rochester at 4 p.m. on Monday.
