The Tenino baseball team lost its series opener against Elma on Tuesday, falling 10-4 on the road.
Most of the game’s runs came in the sixth, where the Beavers trailed 3-0 at the beginning of the inning.
They put up four to briefly take the lead, but the Eagles responded with seven to retake the lead and then some.
Tenino didn’t help itself defensively, as it committed four errors. As a result, only four of the ten runs that Austin Gonia and Jude Leitch allowed were charged as earned.
Gonia struck out six and walked one in four innings, while Leitch struck out two and also walked one in two innings.
Jack Burkhardt and Kellan Johnson tallied two hits apiece, and Mason Metcalf drove in a run in his 1 for 3 day.
Tenino (11-3, 4-3 1A Evergreen) will look to rebound and take the series against Elma when the two teams meet in a doubleheader in Tenino on Friday.
