The Tenino baseball team put together a pair of brilliant performances against Hoquiam on Tuesday, no-hitting the Grizzlies twice in two 14-0 wins.

Mason Metcalf (3.1 innings), Brayden Bennett (0.2 innings) and Will Feltus (one inning) combined to strike out five while no-hitting Hoquiam in Game 1, while Zeke Haskins (four innings) and Jude Leitch (one inning) combined for the Game 2 no-no.

The offense did more than enough in both games.

In the first matchup, Austin Gonia led the way with three hits and five runs batted in, while Preston Snider and Bennett both added a pair of hits and a pair of RBIs.

In the nightcap, Feltus and Jack Burkhardt both had two hits and combined to drive in three runs, while Jaxsen Gore and Michael Vassar also drove in a run each and combined to score three runs.

The Beavers (15-5, 8-4 1A Evergreen) will enter the 1A District 4 Tournament at the league’s No. 2 seed, which will pin them against the Trico’s No. 3 next Monday in a district quarterfinal.

Before that matchup, Tenino will end its regular season with a non-league contest against Adna at Centralia College on Wednesday night.
