Beavers Offense Arrives in Win Over Elma

The Tenino girls basketball team put together its most complete offensive performance to date, and thanks to Ashley Schow’s 27 points and Alivia Hunter’s 13, beat Elma at home, 55-23.

The Beavers (14-4, 4-1 1A Evergreen) scored in double-digits in every quarter, which was a big goal before the game.

“We did a good job sharing the ball,” Beavers coach Scott Ashmore said. “We’ve been working on handling the box and ones, and we responded well to that tonight.”

Schow still managed to nearly drop 30 against a defense designed to stop her, and Hunter was able to score inside as well as she has all season, which Ashmore said she is capable of doing every night.

“She’s got a good inside game, she has this kind of scoring game in her,” he said.

The Beavers will close out their season against Montesano on the road Friday, before a make-up game against Elma on the road Monday.
