Beavers Remain Unbeaten With Win Over Rockets

Tenino girls tennis swept all three singles matches and won in first doubles to complete a 4-1 victory over Castle Rock to remain undefeated in 1A Evergreen League play.

Senior Megan Letts continued her unbeaten streak in first singles, defeating Taylar Madden, 6-1, 6-3. In second singles, Tenino’s Bailey McKitrick defeated Paige Ogden, 6-3, 6-3. And in third singles, Tenino’s Abigail Archibald defeated Anna Rose, 6-3, 6-6, 7-4.

On the doubles side, Tenino duo Rilee Jones and Ashley Schow defeated Natalie Swofford and Kate Loftus, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, in first doubles. And in second doubles, Tenino’s Destiny Sampley and Lauren McClassin lost to Myla Langdon and Maylee Cherrington, 4-6, 5-7.



“It was a  good match and we had some good battles,” Tenino coach Sam Shea said. “Destiny and Lauren didn’t win but I was still proud of how they played.”

Tenino improves to 8-0 in the 1A Evergreen League and will host Stevenson on Thursday during senior night. The 1A District IV tournament begins on Wednesday, May 18.
