Beavers Sweep Three Rivers Christian to Remain Undefeated

Tenino swept all three singles matches and both doubles matches en route to a 5-0 victory over Three Rivers Christian Tuesday to remain unbeaten on the year. 

No. 1 singles player Megan Letts and No. 2 singles player Grace Vestal are both undefeated this season.

Singles

  • No. 1: Megan Letts won 6-2, 6-2
  • No. 2: Grace Vestal won 6-0, 6-0
  • No. 3: Bailee McKitrick won 0-6, 7-5, 6-2

“(Bailee) really showed a lot of improvement,” Tenino coach Sam Whitney said. “We were all very excited for her after the match.”

Doubles

  • No. 1: Rilee Jones and Ashley Schow won 6-0, 6-2
  • No. 2: Austin Johnson and Malika Slassi won 6-4, 6-2

Junior Varsity Singles

  • Abby Coty won a pro set 8-7

Tenino improves to 6-0 on the season and has two regular-season matches left: on Wednesday at Stevenson and on Friday at Castle Rock in a doubleheader makeup game.

The 1A District IV Tournament is slated for April 28 and the Beavers’ No. 1 singles player, Megan Letts, and their No. 1 doubles team, Rilee Jones and Ashley Schow, have already qualified for the tournament.

The remaining spots will be decided by a seeding committee at a meeting next week, Whitney said.
