Tenino senior Ashley Schow dropped a game-high 25 points and the Beavers ran past Eatonville early for a 52-35 road victory in 1A Evergreen League play on Monday.

The Beavers struck quickly, running off an 18-2 lead to start the game and keeping the momentum into the second quarter to hold a 32-11 lead at the break.

“Our six seniors carry us on both ends of the court, and our pressing led to good looks off deflections,” Tenino coach Scott Ashmore said.

The Beavers were aided by efficient shooting, hitting 50% of their 2-point shots to make up for draining one 3-pointer on the night.

“They tried to take both Ashley and Abby (Severse) out with man-to-man, and went zone with everyone else,” Ashmore said.

Grace Vestal got into double digits with 10 points, while Severse added seven and Alivia Hunter chipped in five. Ashmore also praised Megan Letts for her passing.

Hailey Rath led Eatonville with 20 points.

Tenino (13-4, 4-1 Evergreen) continues league play when it hosts Elma on Wednesday.
