Beavers Win Regular Season Finale Over Elma

In its final regular season game of the season, the Tenino girls basketball team thumped Elma on the road, 64-17, to solidify a strong regular season Monday night.

The Beavers (15-5, 6-2 1A Evergreen) were led by Ashley Schow’s 30 points, with 23 scored in the first half, but coach Scott Ashmore was quick to point out the team ball movement heading into districts this weekend.

“We played really well for four quarters,” he said. “We had a lot of girls score and share the ball. We’re going to continue to work heading into the weekend.”

Abby Severse was the only other Beaver in double figures with 15 points, but seven Beavers found the scoring column in the win.

The Beavers were already locked into the second seed in the 1A Evergreen Conference, behind just Montesano. The Bulldogs were the only team to beat the Beavers in league this season.

Tenino will play Friday at home against an opponent to be determined.
