Black Hills earn first district win in 10 years with run-rule victory over R.A. Long

The Black Hills softball team is moving on in the 2A District 4 Tournament after blowing out R.A. Long 14-2 in five innings Tuesday. With the win, the Wolves have won their first district game since beating Ridgefield on May 21, 2015.

Ella Goheen starred for the Wolves, allowing just two hits and two unearned runs while striking out nine compared to one walk. She also went 2-4 at the plate with two doubles and an RBI. Kailey Miller tacked on a two-run home run in the first inning. 

Black Hills scored six in the third and five in the fifth to register its second straight game with 14 runs on the scoreboard. The fourth-seeded Wolves now head to the district quarterfinals looking to hand top-seeded Mark Morris its first loss this season Thursday night at Rec Park.
