The Black Hills baseball team couldn’t get a run across on Friday against Shelton, falling 2-0 to the Highclimbers.
Shelton scored both of its runs in the first on an error and a bases-loaded walk, and that was more than enough for Wyatt Depoe, who allowed just two hits in a complete-game shutout.
Adley Goebel settled in on the bump for the Wolves after allowing the two unearned runs early. He ended up striking out nine and allowing just one hit in six innings. Joel Beldo pitched the seventh, walking one and striking out another without allowing a hit.
Brody Rice and Lincoln Brannin both tallied one hit, and Rice’s went for extra bases.
Black Hills (1-6, 1-5 2A EvCo) will head to Centralia on Tuesday.
