Centralia had a tough outing Saturday at Recreation Park, dropping a pair of NWAC South Conference softball games 15-0 and 12-2 to Southwest Oregon.

Kylie Baker had two hits for the Blazers in the opener, but the Lakers racked up 17 hits and cruised to a win.

Baker went 3 for 3 in Game 2, while Sydney Yates was 2 for 2. The Lakers, however, managed 16 hits in the late game.

“SWOC is a very good hitting team. Every one of their players comes up to the plate with a plan and ready to hit the ball,” Centralia College coach Payton Pocklington said. “We played well in the second game and competed a lot better. We played well on defense, but our bats just weren’t there.”

Centralia (4-8, 3-3 conference) plays a doubleheader at Clackamas on Wednesday.
