Blazers Stumble in Second Half to Red Devils

Centralia College men’s basketball played neck-and-neck in the first half with host Lower Columbia on Wednesday, but couldn’t keep up in the second half in an 88-70 loss in Northwest Athletic Conference West Region action.

The Blazers were tied at 42-42 at the half before running out of gas and getting outscored 46-28 in the second half.

Colby White and Byron Taylor led the Blazers with a game-high 23 points each. White added eight rebounds and Taylor swiped eight steals and pulled down seven boards.



W.F. West alum Kayden Kelly scored seven points and added two steals, two assists and two rebounds. Winlock alum Bryce Cline finished with four points, a block and a rebound.

Lower Columbia (12-3, 4-0 West Region) had four players in double digits, led by Solomon Campbell’s 20 points.

Centralia College (2-9, 1-3 West Region) next heads to Pierce College for a 3 p.m. matchup on Saturday.
