With five golfers scoring better than 55 and 15 total athletes turning out for Rochester golf this season, the Warriors showcased depth in their first action of the season against Black Hills in a 256-316 win.

Though Black Hills’ Luke Fenner earned match medalist with a score of 41, Rochester as a team proved dominant at Riverside Golf Club Monday afternoon. Rochester’s top golfer of the match was Rowdy Edminster, who shot 48 on the course. Not far behind were Xavier Mendez, Hyde Parrish, and Braden Hartley, who each notched a score of 51. Rounding out the top-5 for Rochester was Brady Moen, who shot a 55.

“It’s a testament to our depth, we have a lot of guys who can score well,” Rochester coach Eric Holmkvist said. “They can all reach around that 51 mark or better.”

Rochester will hit the course again on Wednesday when they take on Tumwater and Black Hills in the afternoon.
