2A Boys Golf: Tumwater Brings the Thunder in Three-Team Meet

Tumwater was on fire as four Thunderbirds shot 40 or below to easily outdistance Rochester and Black Hills in a three-team home meet Wednesday.

The Thunderbirds combined for a 194, while Black Hills was second with 247 and Rochester was right behind the Wolves with a 248.

“Tumwater did really well. They definitely stole the show today,” Rochester coach Eric Holmkvist said.

Tumwater was led by Reagan Barrome’s 2-under par 34, which was good for match medalist by two strokes. Nolan Campbell shot an even-par 36 to claim second place. Rounding out the T-Birds was Caden Clark with a 39, Gabe Johnston with a 40 and Jadn Gonzalez with a 45.



Black Hills was led by Luke Fenner’s third-place finish after shooting a 38. Brandon Nguyen shot a 43, Luke Verlangi had a 50, Scott Snean finished with a 56 and Hank Vernable shot a 60.

Rochester’s Hyde Parrish led the Warriors with a 45, while Rowdy Edminster shot a 48, Xavier Mendes had a 50, Brady Moen shot a 52 and Braden Hartley finished with a 53.

Rochester, Centralia and W.F. West face each other in a three-team match set for Monday. Tumwater hosts Shelton on Monday.
