Tumwater’s ace duo of Josh Morgan and Alexandra Broome each finished in second place at Wednesday’s LBA 5,000-meter run held at LBA Park in Olympia.
Broome’s time of 20 minutes, 38.5 seconds fueled the T-Birds girls team to a third place finish in the team standings behind Olympia and Puyallup. Broome, a sophomore, was the highest underclassmen to complete the course.
Fellow sophomore Reagan Smith placed 13th while seniors Miriam Ore plus Rachel Zahn finished inside the top-35.
Tumwater’s boys team finished sixth in the team race after piling up 119 points. Morgan blitzed his way through the course in 17:31.50. Zane McAferty plus Landon Anderson placed 22nd and 26th, respectively. Hayden Newman came in 32nd place for the Thunderbirds.
