Brylee Leone Pennington

Brylee Leone Pennington, 8, gained her angel wings Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., surrounded by her loving family.  She was born July 19, 2011, in Seattle, Wash., to Brandan and Brittany (Stray) Pennington.

Brylee lived in West Branch, Mich., since 2015, formerly of Centralia, Wash. She attended Surline Elementary School for pre-kindergarten and Young 5’s, and then was home schooled for first and second grade. She loved Paw Patrol, doing puzzles, reading books, coloring, singing country songs and spicy food. Brylee enjoyed playing with all of her cousins, who were like siblings to her.

Brylee is survived by her parents, Brandan and Brittany Pennington of West Branch; brother, Ethan Jack Pennington; grandparents, Stevie Jack and Norma Pennington of West Branch, Cyndy Riegle of Williston, N.D., and Paul and Toni Stray of Centralia, Wash.; great-grandparents, Dick and Pat Riegle of West Branch and Gene and Barbara Stray of Centralia, Wash.; aunts and uncles, David (Kelli Newman) Middleton, Jennifer (Darren) Pionk, Jason (Alina) Pennington, Jessica (Brian) Gilbert, Tyler (Juiliana Kovacs) Hobson, Jody (John) Dantzer, Mike Anderson and Brandon Stray; cousins, Grayson, Ethan, Mason, Roman, Claire, Casey (Greg), Elayna, Gregory, Joss, Lucius, Emma, Alivia, Brady, Macaia, Skylar, Alyssa, Ashlyn, Ally, and Savannah; many great-aunts and great-uncles; and very special friends, Aaron Jansen and Ryan “Moose” Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Gene and Terry Vannoy, Jack and Frances Pennington and Howard and Helen Diehl; and cousin, Arika Dantzer.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, with a rosary at 2:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Father Elias Chinzara will officiate.
