The Winlock boys basketball team started slow and couldn’t recover on Monday, falling at Kalama 55-40.

Kalama led 13-8 after one and 29-13 at halftime, and while the Cardinals (2-15, 0-12 C2BL) outscored the Chinooks in the second half, they never made a big enough dent in the lead to make Kalama sweat.

Freddy Patching led the Cardinals with 13 points, while Fortino Solorio and Carter Svenson added eight each. Landen Cline scored six, Arean Thapa tallied three, and Mason Ruiz recorded two.

Winlock will wrap up its season at home on Tuesday against Onalaska.
