The Winlock girls basketball team couldn’t manage to squawk up much noise offensively in a battle of birds Tuesday, falling 69-15 to Toutle Lake on the road in Central 2B League play.

The Cardinals (2-14, 1-9 C2BL) managed just eight points across the first three quarters before adding seven in the fourth, and went into halftime down 43-5.

Kindyl Kelly scored two-thirds of Winlock’s points, finishing with 10. Kendyl Guenther added five rebounds, and Adriana Garcia had four assists.

Winlock will head to Cathlamet on Thursday to face Wahkiakum in a rematch of the Cardinals’ lone league win this season; they beat the Mules 33-23 on Dec. 20.
