Cards Take Down Loggers in Straight-Sets

Taking advantage of a lackluster Onalaska serve-receive, the Winlock volleyball team swept the Loggers at home Thursday, 25-7, 25-17, 25-7.

Brianna Ochoa had six kills, Lacey Allen served up seven aces, and Charlee Connelly had a perfect service game with 13 aces and no errors in the win.

“She was just on top of it tonight in all areas,” Cardinals coach Stephanie Styger said. “Her defense was spot on and she played amazing.”

Kindyl Kelly added seven aces, Madison Rohman had eight kills, five blocks and two aces, and Madisen Keatley earned the praise of Styger from the setter spot.

“We really came together as a team tonight and played as a whole,” Styger said. “I’m so proud of my girls, they kept up their energy and attitudes.”

The Cardinals will take on Rainier next Tuesday for another league bout, while Ony looks to regroup against Kalama.
