The Centralia College women’s golf team brought a good chunk of the NWAC to Riverside Golf Course for a two-day tournament Sunday and Monday, then proceeded to beat out the six-team field.
The Blazers posted a team score of 530, counting their three best two-day scores, and won the event by 10 strokes over second-place Skagit Valley, playing on a clear Sunday before the weather turned ugly Monday morning and started to have a real effect on the proceedings.
CC’s Rieley Iverson, out of Olympia, won the individual medalist honors with a total score of 161, after carding an 81 on Sunday and an 80 on Monday.
“Today, the 80 to me was a great score, given the conditions,” CC coach Dave Klovdahl said.
Behind her, Jayda Thomas carded a total score of 172 to take fourth overall, while W.F. West alum Kendall Rasmussen shot a 94 on the first day and a 103 on the second to place 12th.
Adna alum Natalie Humphrey, Taytm Hauge and Ajae Belliston also took the course for the Blazers.
The tournament also had a men’s competition, which CC didn’t participate in, and Southwest Oregon won.
