Fort Borst Park was the place to be for fans who like offense, as Centralia needed just three innings to score 30 runs in a 30-11 win over R.A. Long.
The Tigers got four innings at the plate, but didn’t score in the second. They scored nine in the first, 10 in the third, and 11 in the fourth.
McKenna Smith hit a home run (her first varsity home run), drove in two runs, and scored four runs, while Adrianne Lynch went 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles, five RBIs, and she scored five runs. Chloe Bonomi also drove in five runs while going 3 for 4 with a double.
Makenzie Erickson, Payton Baumel, Brooklyn Sprague, and Madi Mounts each tallied two hits, and all ten Tigers who recorded a plate appearance reached base safely at least once. Eight of the ten drove in at least one run, and seven of the ten drove in at least two.
R.A. Long put up a crooked number of its own in the fourth by scoring six, but it was nowhere near enough to prevent the run rule from coming into play.
The Tigers (2-1-1) will open league play at home on Tuesday against Shelton.
