The Centralia girls golf team didn’t play its best match against Aberdeen on Tuesday at Riverside, but it was enough to top Aberdeen for a 47-19 win.
“It was beautiful weather, and that was the positive part,” Centralia coach Hal Gronseth said, noting that the rain has kept them from getting on the course consistently.
“We just haven’t gotten to where we’re really scoring yet,” Gronseth said. “But we’ll get better and score better as the season goes on.”
Tess McMurry led the Tigers with 16 points, while Corin Meek scored 12 and Lyla Aumiller added 11. Lily Ferch and Melissa Baine combined for eight more.
Aberdeen was led by Kennedy Kolodzie and Presley Stone, who both scored six.
The Tigers will face W.F. West on Wednesday at Newaukum.
