The Centralia baseball team fell behind big early on Tuesday, giving up 16 in the first inning and never recovering in an 18-1 loss.
After the first batter of the game hit a leadoff home run, the next two Lumberjacks drew walks before a strikeout put an out on the board.
After that, the next 15 Lumberjacks reached base, and the score ballooned from 1-0 to 15-0.
Centralia’s lone run came in the bottom of the fifth, when Hudson Waterfield drew a walk with the bases loaded to prevent the shutout.
Centralia (0-3) will look to get in the win column against Castle Rock on Friday at Heritage High School in Vancouver.
