The Centralia Police Department is seeking information from the public after a motorcyclist sped away from an officer last week, according to a news release.

Officers attempted to stop the “dirt-bike style motorcycle” at about 7:10 p.m. Friday, March 17, in the area of East Summa Street and Kresky Avenue, according to the release.

“As the officer activated his emergency lights and tried to stop the rider, the motorcyclist took off at a high rate of speed eastbound on Summa Avenue,” police stated in the release. “Pursuant to the current laws restricting law enforcement from pursuits, the officer deactivated his emergency lights and is attempting to use other means to identify the suspect pictured below.”

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Centralia Police Department at 360-330-7680 or Lewis County Communications at 360-740-1105.
