In what ended up being the only match on Day 3 of the EvCo Sub-District Tournament, Centralia’s Esther Hopkins defeated W.F. West’s Emma Hamilton 6-3, 6-3 to secure her spot in the district tournament next week.

Hopkins entered the sub-district tournament as the No. 5 seed, and she won her first round matchup to advance to the quarterfinals.

After falling to the eventual champion in the quarters, she won two straight matches to make it to the third-place match, where she defeated the top-seeded Hamilton.
