Chehalis-Centralia Railroad to Offer ‘Easter Eggspress’ on April 3

The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad is inviting the public  to celebrate spring and the Easter season on April 3 with an excursion through the Chehalis River Valley. 

Each train ride will be followed by an Easter egg hunt. Candy-filled eggs will be hidden by the Easter Bunny in the field at the depot while riders enjoy the trip. Covered and open-air cars will provide seating. Age groups for the Easter Egg hunt are: up to three years; four to seven years and ages eight to 12. Attendees are asked to bring their own baskets.

The cost is $16 per person.

Children three and under are free for the ride and egg hunt. General reserved admission is required as space is limited to 50% capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.



The Easter Eggspress excursions are set for Saturday, April 3 at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Reservations for general seating must be made online prior to the event at steamtrainride.com.

The ride on the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad is a half-hour journey. The excursion through the Chehalis River Valley features coaches from the 1920s.

The trains are unheated, so dress appropriately.

The train ride departs from the depot located in Chehalis at 1101 SW Sylvenus St., across from the Veterans Memorial Museum. Attendees are asked to arrive a half hour prior to boarding. Free parking is available.
