A 26-year-old Chehalis man has been charged for allegedly raping and assaulting a 13-year-old in August.
The Centralia Police Department was notified after the victim called 911 on Aug. 16 to report “her boyfriend was being abusive,” according to court documents.
The defendant, whose name is being withheld by The Chronicle to protect the identity of the victim, allegedly admitted to having “consensual” sex with the victim and told police he thought the victim was 15 years old. When informed the victim was actually 13, he reportedly stated, “You’re sick. You’re wrong. I feel bad for myself, dude. That’s not even cool, dude,” according to court documents.
He was charged with second-degree rape of a child and fourth-degree assault on Oct. 6 and is being held at the Lewis County Jail in lieu of $50,000. His next court appearance is an arraignment hearing scheduled for Oct. 14.
