Cars were lined up all the way around the Lewis County Mall Wednesday night for the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce’s “Choose Local Black Friday” event.

Thanks to local sponsors, the chamber gave away 250 free turkeys, gift bags and random prizes including TVs and bikes at no cost. Cars were served on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event was meant to showcase the variety of local options shoppers have for Black Friday shopping.

“Donations were also made from businesses giving back to the community. People like UNFI at the Port of Centralia donated 28 pallets worth of food and 250 turkeys, organic, beautiful, turkeys,” said Chamber Director Alicia Fox. “There’s gift cards. Visa gift cards. Local overnight stays at local hotels. Yeah, it is an amazing event. People are lined up all the way out.”
