Centralia College was unable to notch the game-winner in a 1-1 tie with Lower Columbia College at Tiger Stadium in Centralia on Wednesday.

“Elsie created a lot of chances,” Blazers coach Clarence Gunderson said. “Overall, even the bench players came in with a lot of energy. We felt we were the better side.”

LCC’s Libby Brown scored an unassisted goal in the 11th minute to put the Red Devils up early. The Blazers were outshot 6-5, had four corner kicks to LCC’s six and keeper Marisol Vargas recorded three saves.

Allison Jensen and Kennedy Bodily each had a team-high two shots on goal while Emma Browning had one.

“We had chances, we just didn’t finish,” Gunderson said. “The girls played well, especially coming off a loss to Highline.”

Centralia College (2-2-2 overall, 0-1-1 West Region) hosts Grays Harbor College at 7 p.m. Saturday at Tiger Stadium.
