Colorful eggs and more abound throughout Lewis County this Easter weekend

With Good Friday marking the beginning of the upcoming Easter weekend, Lewis County families will have plenty of options when it comes to attending another Easter holiday weekend tradition — the Easter egg hunt.

The following is a list of various Easter egg hunt events scheduled publicly with dates, times and locations.

Mad Hatter Play Cafe Easter Egg Hunt

On Friday, April 18, the newly relocated Mad Hatter Play Cafe will host its Easter egg hunt at its new downtown Centralia location at 219 S. Tower Ave.

Three separate egg hunts will be held, according to the business’s website.

The first will begin at 12:30 p.m. for children 3 and younger, then one will be held for children ages 4 to 5 at 1:45 p.m., followed by the final hunt for children 3 and younger again at 3 p.m.

Adna Evangelical Church Easter Festival

On Saturday, April 19, Adna Evangelical Church will host its Easter Festival on the church grounds, located at 115 Dieckman Road in Chehalis.

This event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features family friendly fun including face painting, crafts, coloring, a bounce house, raffles and more, according to a Facebook event post by the church.

Four easter egg hunts will be held. Two will begin at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 and younger and ages 10 to 12, and two more will begin at 11:15 a.m. for children ages 4 to 6 and ages 7 to 9.

Mineral Lake Lions Club annual Easter Egg Hunt and Bake Sale

On Saturday, April 19, the Mineral Lake Lions Club will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt and Bake Sale fundraiser at the Mineral Lake Lions Den Campground, located at 113 E. Front St. in Mineral.

This Easter egg hunt is free to attend. Campground gates open at 1 p.m. on Saturday, with the hunt itself scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.

Egg hunters are asked to bring their own baskets. Children will be able to get their photos taken with the Easter bunny.

Proceeds from the bake sale support the Morton School District Backpack Program. The event was made possible with Lewis County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee funds. Partners for this event include Lewis County Fire District 9 in Mineral and others.

Mead Family Market

On Saturday, April 19, the Mead Family Market will hold its inaugural Bunny Bash at the market, located at 8136 U.S. Highway 12 in Glenoma.

Scheduled to run from noon to 2 p.m., the Bunny Bash features an Easter egg hunt, barbecue and more for purchase, games, giveaways and photos with the Mead Family Market’s “legendary Bunny Bigfoot,” according to a Facebook event post.

“Meet & Greet with Bunny Bigfoot! Our legendary Bunny Bigfoot is ready for photos and furry high-fives,” the post stated.

Onalaska Alliance Community Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 19, the Onalaska Alliance will host its annual Easter egg hunt at Carlisle Lake Park, located at the end of Alexander Road in Onalaska.

Free to attend, the egg hunt will begin at noon. Chocolate bunnies for children will be provided by the Onalaska Alliance, according to the nonprofit’s website.

Bucoda Improvement Club’s Easter Pancake Breakfast and Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 19, the Bucoda Improvement Club will hold both an Easter pancake breakfast and an egg hunt in the small South Thurston County community.

The pancake breakfast will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. inside the Bucoda Community Center, located at 101A E. Seventh St. in Bucoda, according to a Bucoda Improvement Club Facebook event post.

“Our yearly Easter Pancake Breakfast is coming! Come eat some fluffy pancakes drizzled in delicious syrup accompanied by some scrumptious ham,” the post stated. “We cook, you eat! Free, but donations suggested.”

Following the pancake breakfast, the club will then head to Bucoda Volunteer Park for the egg hunt, which will begin at 11 a.m.

“​​We will have lots of eggs and some prizes. Event will start at 11 so get here beforehand and don't forget to bring a basket or bag to put your eggs in,” the post stated.

Sticklin Funeral Chapel and Brown Mortuary Easter Egg Hunts

On Saturday, April 19, the Sticklin Funeral Chapel will host its annual Easter egg hunt at the funeral home, located at 1437 S. Gold St. in Centralia.

Free to attend and for children of all ages, the egg hunt will begin at 9 a.m., according to a Facebook post by Sticklin.

“We will have thousands of eggs, prizes, refreshments, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny,” the post stated.

On the same day, Brown Mortuary will also host its annual Easter egg hunt, beginning at 11 a.m. at the mortuary located at 812 Westlake Ave. in Morton.

The Huntting’s Pumpkin Patch and Haunted Forest Easter Egg Hunt



On Saturday, April 19, Huntting’s Pumpkin Patch and Haunted Forest will host the family farm’s annual Easter egg hunt, located at 600 Cinebar Road in Cinebar.

Starting at 3 p.m., four separate Easter egg hunts will be held for children of various ages, according to a Facebook post by Huntting’s.

This includes one for childrens ages 2 and younger, one for children ages 3 to 6, one for children ages 7 to 12 and one for those 13 and older. Children 12 and under can participate in egg hunts for free. It is $5 per person to participate if 13 or older.

It will feature “over 29,000 eggs and hundreds of other prizes, such as sodas, candy bars, chips and chocolate bunnies,” the post added.

Mossyrock Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 19, Lewis County Fire District 3 will hold the Mossyrock Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn of the Mossyrock School District, located at 545 Williams St. in Mossyrock.

Free to attend, this Easter egg hunt will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, according to a Mossyrock Fire Department Facebook post.

“Bring the kids out for a fun-filled day of hunting eggs, meeting firefighters and enjoying the springtime spirit with our community,” the department stated in the post. “… We encourage children ages 1-12 to come out and participate. Keep an eye out for special prize eggs hidden throughout the hunt!”

Packwood TRC Pancake Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 19, Packwood Timberland River Connections (TRC) will host a pancake breakfast and Easter egg hunt at the Packwood Senior Center located at 12931 U.S. Highway 12 in Packwood.

Breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. and is $10. Attendees will have their choice of pancakes, French toast, eggs and sausage or biscuits and gravy and eggs, according to a Packwood Senior Center Facebook event post.

“All ages welcome! Donations of candy and plastic eggs gratefully accepted,” the post stated.

The Easter egg hunt will be held following breakfast at 11:30 a.m.

Skookumchuck Grange and Tenino FFA Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 19, the Skookumchuck Grange and Tenino Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter will hold a free Easter egg hunt at the grange, located at 5345 Skookumchuck Road SE in Tenino.

The egg hunt begins at 10 a.m., according to a Skookumchuck Grange Facebook post, and the grange will also host a pancake breakfast on the same morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. for $5.

Let’s Play Something annual Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 19, shoppers at the Let’s Play Something can bring their children to search for Easter eggs at the Centralia toy store, located at 109 N. Tower Ave.

The egg hunt will go all day, with a special golden egg being hidden every hour throughout the toy store’s normal business hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to a Let’s Play Something Facebook post.

“Find eggs, make memories, and kick off your Easter weekend with some serious fun,” the post stated.

Chehalis Centralia Railroad & Museum Easter Eggspress

On Saturday, April 19, the Chehalis Centralia Railroad & Museum will host its annual Easter Eggspress train rides, starting at the museum located at 1101 SW Sylvenus St. in Chehalis.

Each train will embark on a 75-minute long adventure taking passengers through the scenic Chehalis River Valley.

“Upon returning to the depot, kiddos up to 12 years old will dash to the nearby grassy area searching for bright colored eggs filled with sweet treats and surprises,” the post stated. “Festivities include face painting, games and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.”

Cooks Hill Community Church Easter services and egg hunts

On Sunday, April 20, Cooks Hill Community Church will host a pair of Easter Sunday services, both of which will feature a full children’s program and Easter egg hunt following the service.

On Sunday, April 20, Insert Coin will host a free Easter egg hunt inside its downtown Centralia arcade, located at 309 N. Tower Ave.

Two separate egg hunts will be held. The first is for children ages 10 and under, which begins at 3 p.m., followed by one for children 10 and up at 3:05 p.m.

Easter egg hunt in Rainier’s Wilkowski Park

On Saturday, April 19, We Love Rainier will host its annual Easter egg hunt in Rainier’s Wilkowski Park, located at 206 Thurston Co Rails-To-Trails in Rainier.

Free to attend, four separate egg hunts will be held beginning at noon in the park.

The first will be for children 3 and under starting at noon, followed by one for children 4 to 7 years old at 12:30 p.m., one for children 8 to 11 years old at 1 p.m. and one for special needs children, also at 1 p.m.
