Botanical Bartending Workshop Series
March 22 at Flourish Cafe, 202 S. Tower Ave., Centralia
Herbalist Lauren Olean will teach this herbal mixology class. Attendees can learn how to make herbal liqueurs, syrups, sugars and cocktail bitters in a relaxed and mindful environment. The class will cover how to work with different herbs that grow locally and their medicinal benefits. Attendees will make products together and sample ingredients. One drink is included. Lewis County AAUW Used Book Sale
March 23, 24 and 25 at the Moose Lodge, 1400 Grand Ave., Centralia; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Book prices will drop every day with the best selection of books on March 23. On March 25, books will be $5 per bag all day. The proceeds are used to fund college scholarships and other educational opportunities for women.
Family Resource Fair
March 25 at the Morton Elementary School Gym, 400 W. Main Ave., Morton; 10 a.m. to noon
There will be information on infant and child CPR, booths, free raffle drawings, games, a photography session, free books and a fire truck. Free diapers can be reserved for pick up at the event by parents who are expecting or have a baby up to 18 months old by calling 360-496-3749 by March 17. There will be parenting health tips from Jason Whitney, ARNP, FNP-C and Dr. Travis Podbilski.
Potato Bake
March 25 at the Adna Grange, 123 Dieckman Road, Adna; 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The cost is $7 and includes a variety of toppings, garden salad, a beverage and a dessert.
Stationary Dinner Train
March 25 at the Chehalis Centralia Railroad and Museum, 1101 SW Sylvenus St., Chehalis; 5 p.m.
Attendees will be able to have a three-course dinner with musical entertainment aboard renovated 1920s dining cars and can choose between roasted chicken with potatoes or Fettuccine Alfredo. Tickets are $66 and are available at steamtrainride.com. Attendance is limited to 48 guests.
Paint Class For Seniors

Northwest Regional Competition Triple Crown Spring Contest
March 31 to April 2 at 146 Middle Fork Road, Chehalis
This event is sponsored by the Farriers Association of Washington State. This will be the first of three competitions. Cost will be $100 for current students, $150 for Novice, $200 for Intermediate and $250 for open. Registration will close on Friday, March 24. Registration can be done at www.farriersofwa.com. Carl Via, CJF will be the judge/clinician. The host hotel will be the Holiday Inn Express in Chehalis. Rooms are $150 each and the hotel can be contacted at 360-740-1800.
Walk A Mile In Their Shoes
April 1 at Centralia Tigers Stadium near Fort Borst Park in Centralia; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Hope Alliance is inviting community members to “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes” to raise awareness of issues surrounding domestic violence, abuse, sexual assault and other forms of violence. In addition to a one-mile walk around the Centralia track, the second annual event will include an Easter Egg hunt and an appearance from the Easter Bunny. The event is free to attend, though volunteers will accept donations for the Hope Alliance, a nonprofit serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Southwest Washington Mycological Society Meeting
April 4 at Lewis Fire District 6 Station 61, 2123 Jackson Highway, Chehalis; 6 p.m.
The Southwest Washington Mycological Society is inviting community members to attend its next meeting and hear from the mycologist Daniel Winkler, who the club describes as a “distinguished guest.” Winkler will be sharing his knowledge of edible mushrooms in the Pacific Northwest with his new book “Fruits of the Forest — Handbook to Edible Mushrooms of the Pacific Northwest.” He will discuss the identification, collection, preparation and storage of choice edible mushrooms as well as the different habitats and seasonality of mushrooms. Winkler will also share “fungal fun”and facts from his ethno-mycological research and “mushroaming” adventure travels.
Gardening for Everyone
April 8 at Centralia College - Washington Hall, 600 Centralia College Blvd., Centralia; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is a Master Gardener event. There will be multiple workshops offered during different sessions throughout the day. The first session will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m., the second session from 10:45 to 12:15 p.m. and the third session from 12:45 to 2:15. Pre-registration is not required.
