Tenino Farmers Market 

May 27 in the 200 block of Sussex Avenue in downtown Tenino; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Tenino Farmers Market is open each Saturday through the end of September. 

 

Adna Grange Potato Bake

May 27 at the Adna Grange, 123 Dieckman Road, Adna; 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Entry is $7 and includes a potato, toppings, a salad, a beverage and dessert. This will be the last potato bake until Sept. 23 as there are no potato bakes during the summer. 

 

Red Cross Blood Drive

May 31 at the United Methodist Church, 16 S. Market Blvd., Chehalis; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Discovery Trail Work Party

June 1 at the Discovery Trail, 1545 Goodrich Road, Centralia; 9 a.m. to noon

The Chehalis River Basin Land Trust will hold a work party on the Discovery Trail to remove invasive weeds from areas near the trail and help recently planted native trees and shrubs thrive. Water, snacks and other drinks will be provided, though attendees are asked to bring their own bottles. Attendees should dress for the weather and bring sturdy work gloves and footwear. There will be garden tools and gloves at the site but people may bring their own materials. Messages should specify an attendee’s name and contact information along with the number of people in their party.

 

Long Term/Short Term Housing Summit

June 2 at the Bob Lyle Community Center, 700 Main Ave., Morton; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is an East Lewis County Chamber of Commerce Event. The event’s full name is “Long Term/Short Term Housing Summit: The First Step in Identifying the Housing Crisis in East Lewis County.” There will be presentations and a moderated discussion with panelists. There is a $35 entrance fee and lunch is provided. To register, go to elcchamber.org.

‘Why Go Native’ Master Gardeners Event

June 3 at the Fort Borst Park Demonstration Garden, Centralia; 10 a.m.

Concert and Guitar Workshop



June 3 at the Hope Grange, 118 Antrim Road, Winlock; 3 p.m.

The workshop will be with world renowned fingerstyle guitarist Richard Smith. The workshop will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and a concert will follow at 7 p.m. Between the workshop and concert, there will be a potluck “meet and greet.” Tickets for the concert are $20 per person and the workshop is $35 per person. The event is sponsored by the Washington Acoustic Music Association. Tickets can be purchased on the association’s website at wamamusic.com. 

 

Keepers Of The Faith Gospel Music Concert

June 4 at Mountain View Baptist Church, 1201 Belmont Ave., Centralia; 3 p.m.

No ticket is required and no admission fee is charged for entry. The music group Keepers Of The Faith sing uplifting, fun music that is appropriate for all ages. 

 

Chehalis Farmers Market Opening Day

June 6 at Boistfort Street in Downtown Chehalis; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Chehalis Farmers Market is on Tuesdays.

 

Free Concert

June 6 at the Corbet Theatre, 600 Centralia College Blvd., Centralia; 7 p.m.

This concert will feature the Centralia College band under the direction of Louie Blaser and Karl Scarborough. The concert will include a variety of music and will be family-friendly.

 

Lewis County Parkinson’s Disease Support Group

June 8 at the Church of the Nazarene, 1119 W. First St., Centralia

This group is for community, conversation and to review developments in therapies for Parkinson’s. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month. For more information, contact Stuart Bailey at 360-280-9194.

 

The Silent Comedy

June 8 at The Juice Box, 216 S. Tower Ave., Centralia; 7 to 10 p.m.

The Silent Comedy is a rock-and-roll band. Joshua and Jeremiah Zimmerman are brothers who grew the band.
