The city of Centralia Public Works Department has announced that compost has been available since March 1 at the wastewater treatment plant and at Fort Borst Park near the boat launch.

“With the sunny weather, it’s that time of the year that compost is firing up. We are ready and we have some stockpiled out there,” Public Works Director Kim Ashmore said.

Compost will be available seven days a week at the Fort Borst Park boat ramp at a self-loading site. Bring your own shovel and containers and call 360-330-7512 if the stock is getting low.

The Centralia Wastewater Treatment Plant at 1101 Goodrich Road will be open for compost purchase and pick up from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. The cost is $10 per yard and there are no quanity limits.

For more information, call Centralia Public Works at 360-330-7512.
