Cross Country: Bearcats’ Elaina Koenig Wins Three-Team Meet

Elaina Koenig easily captured the girls race, winning by nearly three minutes with a time of 21:46.35, in a three-team meet with Black Hills in Aberdeen on Wednesday.

Sophomore Kaitlin Moore was the only other Bearcat girl to compete and finished sixth with a time of 32:15.30.

W.F. West senior Henry Jordan was the top local boys finisher, placing second in a time of 18:29. Junior teammate Jaysen Miles was sixth (19:11.42) and freshman Damian Carroll was seventh (19:31.40).

Tigers, Warriors Compete in Tumwater

Tumwater’s John Hoffer left competition in the dust to capture the boys race at a four-team meet at Pioneer Park in Tumwater Wednesday.

Hoff finished in a time of 16:25.15 to win the race. Rochester’s Levi Jennings was second (17:35.49).



Tumwater’s Brendan Hamilton was fifth (17:57.96), and teammates Mason Ball (18:02.04) and Andrew Harnden (18:33.09) were sixth and eighth, respectively.

Centralia’s Devin Harrison placed ninth with a time of 18:36.58. Rochester’s Gabe Stuard rounded out the top-10 finishers by placing 10th in 18:52.57.

On the girls side, Tumwater’s Olivia Marty was the top local finisher, placing sixth in a time of 22:56.44. Centralia’s Keira Jones was seventh (23:40.58).

Tumwater’s Rachel Zahn (23:42.45) and Jesse Brumbaugh (23:51.26) were eighth and ninth, respectively, while Centralia’s Ruth Gonzalez (25:51.26) placed 10th.
