Dog saved from icy swimming pool in Eastern Washington

WENATCHEE — Animal control officers saved the life of a German Shepherd mix named "Sergeant," who was struggling in a nearby swimming pool filled with water and ice.

On Thursday, a neighbor called Wenatchee Animal Control about a dog in distress at a vacant property.

Sergeant was wearing a tag that helped the officers locate of the owner right away and reunite them, according to a news release from the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society.



Since then Sergeant is doing better, the shelter said.
