Following leading the W.F. West girls basketball team to a fifth-place finish at the 2A State Tournament in Yakima last weekend, senior forward Drea Brumfield suited up for the North All Star team in the South Sound All-Star Game Wednesday night at Auburn High School.
The senior led the Bearcats all season long, becoming their all-time leading scorer and averaging 15.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, and is the only Chronicle-area girls player who will be represented in Auburn.
Brumfield played for the North roster under Olympia coach (and former Mossyrock boys basketball coach) Dustin Workman and assistant Ryan Gerritts, with teammates from Rogers High School, Kentwood, Bonney Lake, Enumclaw and North Thurston.
The North squad played against the South squad, which featured players from Olympia, Tahoma, Gig Harbor, Auburn Mountainview, Auburn Riverside and a coaching staff from Rogers.
