All lanes of northbound and southbound Interstate 5 have reopened after Airlift Northwest airlifted a person injured in a crash near mile marker 66 to Harborview Medical Center.

The vehicle was traveling southbound when it hit the inside barrier and rolled into the northbound lanes at about 2:30 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol. The driver was ejected during the collision. Airlift Northwest landed at approximately 2:45 p.m. to transport them to a hospital for treatment.

Traffic on I-5 backed up for several miles in both directions as crews worked to clear the crash. Both lanes were reopened around 3:40 p.m.

Drivers are advised to give time for the backlog to clear.
