The Economic Alliance of Lewis County announced this week that it has completed a draft document of its 2025-2027 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy.
Alliance Initiatives Program Manager Todd Chaput announced the new draft document on Wednesday along with a month-long comment period. In creating the plan, the alliance is now responsible for making the draft document available for feedback to the community, including residents, local governments and other interest groups.
According to the announcement, the new strategy was funded through a grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration and with the help of the Port of Chehalis.
The new draft is available online on the alliance’s website at https://lewiscountyalliance.org/ceds/. According to the alliance, physical copies of the draft document are also available upon request. Those wishing to submit comments on the draft can email Chaput at Todd@lewiscountyalliance.org.
“This document is key for municipalities, NGOs and other organizations that are seeking federal and state funds through grants and appropriations,” the alliance stated in its news release. “Accurate and relevant data is key and regular updates are required.”
The Lewis County Economic Alliance serves as the economic development organization for Lewis County and is a private-public partnership. The alliance describes its goal as attempting to improve the quality of life in the area by increasing economic vitality and the number of local jobs through recruiting new businesses to the area and supporting current businesses.
