Errors doom T-Birds in loss against Bobcats

Grand Canyon recruit Lilly Camp fanned 18 batters, but it was a five-error day by the Tumwater High School softball team that was the downfall in a 6-1 setback to Aberdeen on the road on Friday afternoon.

Camp, the Bobcats’ ace, allowed just three hits and seven T-Birds (12-3, 10-2 EvCo) hitters were set down on strikes more than once. Aberdeen was up 3-0 after two innings and put the game out of reach with a three-run sixth.

Tumwater’s lone tally was on a Marissa La Praim RBI single in the seventh. Zoe Fields and Brielle Womach each had a double. Ella Ferguson finished with seven strikeouts and only two of the six runs allowed were earned.

The Thunderbirds will trek to Chehalis and take on W.F. West on Monday.
