Thurston County residents have until Monday, May 1, to pay the first half of their 2023 property taxes, according to a county news release.
Normally, the deadline is April 30, but as that day is a Sunday, payments will still be accepted on the following day without late fees being added.
Taxpayers have four different payment options including:
• Online at https://www.thurstoncountywa.gov/departments/treasurer. No additional charges are made for electronic checks but debit card payments have a flat $3.95 fee and credit card payments have a 2.35% transaction fee.
• By mailing a check or money order to the Thurston County Treasurer’s Office at 3000 Pacific Ave. SE, Olympia, WA 98501. Mailed payments must be postmarked by May 1.
• A secure dropbox located near the flag poles outside the county’s office building located at 3000 Pacific Ave. SE in Olympia.
• In person at the Thurston County Treasurer’s Office located at 3000 Pacific Ave. SE in Olympia. Office hours are 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Debit card payments have a flat $3.95 fee and credit card payments have a 2.35% transaction fee.
Late fees will be imposed for those who do not make a payment by the end of the business day on May 1 as per state law.
