Fueled by a double-double by Peyton Zock, the Trojans opened their 2024-25 season with a 48-14 triumph over Class 1A Rochester on Monday night.
Zock registered 18 points and 12 rebounds plus added three blocks. Karli Phelps stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, seven dimes, four boards and four steals. Emma Kissner added 12 points for Pe Ell (1-0). Brookelynn King chipped in three points and five rebounds.
“The girls came out with intensity, executed the game plan and used our defensive pressure to spark our offense,” Trojans head coach Kelsey Lennox said.
Rochester (0-1) will face another non-league test on Thursday night at Toledo while the Trojans will battle Ocosta on Friday.
