A driver sustained minor injuries after his vehicle was struck by a slow-moving freight train while crossing the tracks in the 1700 block of Sandra Avenue just before 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20. 

The vehicle itself was destroyed. 

“The driver of the vehicle stated he didn’t see the train or hear the horn,” according to the Centralia Police Department. “The train was traveling at low speed and the driver of the vehicle sustained only minor injuries.”
