Gather Around the Midway ‘Music at Night’ Stage at the SWW Fair for Free Nightly Concerts

Note: The 2022 Southwest Washington Fair begins Tuesday, Aug. 16, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 21. Find out more at

If the barns are the heart of the Southwest Washington Fair, the midway is its central nervous system.

And at night during this year’s showcase, the midway will come alive with free music performances from a range of local and regional singers and bands.

“Grab something good to eat — dinner or dessert each night — and sit a spell at the Midway Stage, located near the carnival entrance,” fair organizers encourage attendees. “Take in the lights, the crowds, and all the truly wonderful music by our ‘Midway Stage at Night’ bands for a great fair evening!”

The Still Got It Band is first up, beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16. The fair describes the band as “a group of established and seasoned veteran musicians with incredible energy and chemistry on stage. Their talents cover a wide variety of styles and genres, from the Beatles to Robben Ford to John Mayer.”

On Wednesday, Aug. 17, The Rowes will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.

“The Rowes are the most famous band to ever come out of Elbe, Washington!” according to the fair. “Rowdy country-type music the way they like it in Elbe, Mineral and Salkum.”

Nick and the Underdogs will bring its mix of pop, blues and original tunes to the Midway Stage at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18. The Seattle-based band is making the stop as part of its summer tour.

At 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, Sucker Punched will hit the stage.

“Locally-based wild fun ‘80s hair bands tribute and fabulous light show. These guys are more fun than the ‘80s ever were,” a fair organizer wrote of the band.

The final free Midway Stage show will be by Sean Lewis, the Western Drifter. The show begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. Lewis will bring original songs, country favorites and even a little Elvis.

After Lewis performs, the stage will open up for the community as karaoke is held from 7 to 11 p.m.
