Sophomore Peyton Holter put together a standout effort in the circle for the Toledo High School softball team, registering 12 strikeouts in a five-inning complete game to aid them to a 23-1 triumph over Onalaska on Thursday.
The right-hander allowed just one run in her ninth win on the season. Toledo (14-4, 6-2 C2BL) will open the district tournament on Monday as the third seed from the league. It plated eight runs apiece in the third and fourth frames.
It was a 15-hit day by the Riverhawks and they also took advantage of nine errors by the Loggers (8-10, 4-4), the five seed from the league. Camryn Hurley drove in four runs as did Brenna Carver and Audrey Cooper for Toledo. Seven players crossed home plate multiple times.
Both teams concluded the regular season on Thursday.
